This is Corfe Castle, nearby the village of Rilton Castle and home to Lorna Reilly, Finn and Patrick's grandmother. She runs a small arts and crafts shop which sells tourists postcards, tea cozies and Lucy Barton's pottery. She has a horrible Pekinese that used to annoy Dick the Dog and chain smokes when she drives, which makes Mike mad as he doesn't want the boys overwhelmed by passive smoking. The late Susan Ash's mother, not a big presence in the first three books but she will come into her own in book four, 'After Life'.
