Clive is one of Mike's old friends from childhood, now living in a cottage in the village and working at the school as a cook. He's married with two girls and has a very demanding wife whose big dream in life is constantly redesigning their home. Clive is struggling with low wages and the pressures of paying his bills and could do without his wife's current obsession, getting a Smeg fridge....however patriotic it might be!
