A new fan....

Had a wonderful bit of feedback from on old friend in France who gave a copy of the first book in the series to his neighbour!

"First of all though, a description of your fan : she's a convent-educated Liverpudlan, very kind, never been heard to utter a rude word and has the social role of a Mother Hen. I described to her your Johnson's Baby-Oil parties in Leeds and she said she'd like to try volume 1. I told her to try one chapter, and she's hooked.

She loves the characters you've created, and like me she finds them full of compassionate detail and believable in 3 dimensions. I don't think she's read the Chrysalids and she finds the idea of telepathic twins absolutely fascinating. She was startled by the rude language and  homosexual details, but she became so wrapped up in the story and the cast that she learned to skip the naughty bits longing to find out what happened next. She's well into the humour, was quite forgiving about the millignas and grammar, and I think she's now well into book two.

She's member of a local book club which asks for a book review each week, so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Anyway, you've gained another fan, a most unlikely one at that, so you must be doing something right."
