Had a nice letter from a reader in Sydney, Australia, a woman who moved there thirty years ago from Dorset. She said she loved reading about the villages and towns she remembered and felt I was keeping her up to date with social norms and events! She also said she and her husband both enjoyed the books and loved having Mike and Tom at the centre of the stories. Her son is gay and she felt my books gave her a better understanding of his lifestyle, as my characters were “so warm and loving and spent their time worrying about typical things like meals, paying the bills…and tigers!” He also reads the books, as she bought them all for him when he moved in with his boyfriend!
I’m so happy I’ve managed to help her, not only understand her son a bit better but also resolve her house warming gift problem!! (It isn't a picture of her son above...just a generic pic of two guys being happy together)
