This is Milton Abbey School, which it the basis for Rilton Castle School in the Gemini and Flowers Mysteries. The school features in Family Life and comes back again strongly in the new book I'm finishing off now, Wild Life, which will be published in January 2016. I went there from '69 to '74 and enjoyed it, although I would never say they were the happiest days of my life...I've had better since!
