What's in a name? One of the problems for any writer is choosing the names of his characters. Tom Flowers, one of my main characters, was a good choice. However, when I picked a name for his father, I chose Paul Flowers….and who would have guessed that, nine months later, an idiot banker with that name would make headlines across the UK for taking drugs, renting hustlers and ruining the Coop bank….hell's bells!! So the disclaimer at the start of 'In Real Life' is important, as my Paul Flowers was certainly not based on any person, alive or dead…or making bloody headlines!
