The center of village life, the home of Bob Kettle. The pub has always been popular with the locals and has some very regular customers. As the series progresses, food will feature a lot more as it turns from just a local watering hole into a gastropub. Many pubs across Britain have closed down but the Happy Thatcher beats that trend by staying warm and friendly, welcoming everyone. And, of course, it serves real ale as it is a free house, not owned by a brewery group.
